Durango in front. Nature out back.

The ecosystems of Twin Buttes are a mix of montane forest and pinon-juniper woodlands.  Ponderosa pine dominates the landscape, joined by spruce, gambel oak, pinion pine, Utah juniper, and red cedar trees.  The first wildlife you’ll probably notice are deer or flocks of wild turkeys, who seem to feel at home right in our developed area.  Twin Buttes is also home to elk, fox, coyote, cottontails, a wide variety of birds, and the occasional black bear.  Pauls Family Park features a pond, with water flowing through to nearby Lightner creek.
